THANK YOU for your support in the Primary Election!!

Building On A Tradition Of Service

My name is Dave McFadyen. I am a candidate for District Court Judge for the 3-B Judicial District, which is comprised of Craven, Carteret, and Pamlico Counties. I would be honored to serve you as judge, and I believe my personality, character, and temperament make me the right person for the Bench. I would appreciate your support and your vote during Early Voting, which starts on October 18th, or in the the General Election which will be held on November 6th.

Please take a moment to look over my website to learn more about me – and please do not hesitate to contact me at dave@mcfadyenforjudge.com if you have any questions about me or my campaign.

A District Court Judge should serve the people who elect him or her with Integrity, Impartiality, and Courage. I will serve the people of Craven, Carteret, and Pamlico Counties in a way that will reflect those ideals to the fullest extent.

Integrity

I will be honest with the people I serve. I will follow the law as written. I will practice judicial restraint, and thus will not “legislate from the bench”. I will uphold the reputation and ideals of the exemplary district court judges that have come before me. I understand I will serve at the pleasure of the people of this District, and I will do my best to earn and maintain the trust and respect of those people through my actions and rulings from the bench.

Impartiality

I will be unbiased. Everyone who appears before me will be treated fairly and equally. I will not be beholden to special interests or to specific groups or individuals. I will make my decisions based solely on the facts presented and the applicable law. I firmly believe politics have no place in a courtroom.

Courage

I will not avoid tough or “controversial” cases. I will be firm with my judgements and will hold guilty offenders accountable for their actions. I will do whatever is necessary to ensure the correct decision is made in each and every case that comes before me, even if that decision is unpopular.

I believe that our courts hold a very important, yet limited role in our Constitutional Democracy. With your support and your vote, I look forward to working diligently for the people of this District and working equally as hard to protect and preserve our Constitutional rights.

I am asking for your support and your vote on November 6th.
